Writing

Welcome to my writing page. I have been writing ever since I can remember:

poetry, non-fiction, fiction, and of course, lyrics for my songs. Someone once said “Writing is not something I do; it’s something I am.” That’s pretty much how I’ve always felt about writing and playing music. There are some things you just have to do, no matter how you define yourself.

Here are some of my projects:

Keys to Life: Life’s Lessons Learned at the Piano

This is my recently published book that talks about the things you learn at piano lessons that can improve the rest of your life as well. I could’ve titled it Everything I Needed to Know I Learned at Piano Lessons, but that’s been overused. Besides, I liked the pun.

Writing Your Spiritual Journey

Once or twice a year I teach a writing workshop called “Writing Your Spiritual Journey.” This is how I explain it:

“We write to discover ourselves, to unburden ourselves, to enlighten ourselves. Writing is an opportunity to sit down, pause, unplug, and reflect on what we have, what we long for, and what we believe. Writing can help us become whole. This workshop is not about correct grammar or punctuation. It is not about writing for publication. It’s about writing to explore yourself and your spirituality.”
